“ A very instagrammable afternoon tea. It’s smack bang in the middle of busy borough market so easy to miss with the crowds. Loved the decor and the china used, very elegant. The variety of food was great - not just sandwiches, scones and desserts but an extra plate of savoury. Plus they accommodated for our halal diet at really short notice. That to say there wasn’t unlimited food like there is with other places but I think that’s fine because I managed to finish everything. Only one scone but only one is needed and it was really tasty. The sausage roll wasn’t quite the juicy one I’m used to but I’m guessing they don’t know where to get the good halal stuff. The chocolate orange roulade could have done with more orange and a crunchy aspect would elevate it. The apple crumble was incredible. The kids meal was very generous and makes me want to come back for a halal roast dinner on Sunday! ”

“ This was a solid place for tea. The rules were a bit annoying to read on the menu and booking page but in reality were fine. Food was good. Tea selection was fine. Not very large but plenty of variety. Service is good. Scone is a bit too big. Tasted great but I’d prefer two smaller scones than the massive one provided. I will make it back here again. ”

“ We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Roast. We had the beef and lamb, both of which were very good and the meat was tender. The roast potatoes were deliciously crispy and we really enjoyed the mixed vegetables too. The freshly made mint sauce with the lamb was an excellent addition. All in all, a very good roast. The restaurant is light and airy and the view is over Borough market. The entrance way is a little over the top, in my opinion, with all the floral instagram style decorations, but the inside of the restaurant is less so. The formal dining area is quite nice. Riccardo, our waiter, was charismatic and friendly making the experience even nicer. We look forward to going back. ”

“ This was like a hidden gem inside borough market. Beautiful decor and equally beautiful cuisine. We had a private room so it was easy to chat; however, when the door opened it was quite loud out in the dining area. The service was top notch, prompt, clean, attention to detail - I couldn't ask for anything more. We started with some Scotch eggs and scallops, both of which were fantastic. Our entire table of 10 ordered the wellington and it came out looking and tasting amazing. Needed a pinch of salt, but that could be my American palette shining through. Fantastic sides with carrots, spinach, mushrooms and cheesy cauliflower. The drinks were great as well. I ordered the Big Ben and it was a hit at the table. ”

“ Right in the heart of Borough Market this place is an elevated oasis of calm above the frenetic buzz below. It is easy to miss but at the time of reviewing has a vibrant sunflower entrance as a land mark. Stairs and a lift are available giving the restaurant interesting views over the market below. Brunch was very good and there was no pressure to vacate our table. Both lunch and afternoon tea looked very good and I would be very happy to return to try either! Service was accommodating and efficient. Facilities were clean and white linen table cloths steamed smooth with a cordless iron….if you like that level of detail you appreciate this! My son’s only complaint was the amount of baked beans served in a minuscule pot was most definitely not sufficient. ”

“ What a wonderful place in an even more wonderful setting. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we received first class service, nothing was too much trouble. The scallops and halibut dishes were both a taste sensation, I could not fault anything. Paired with a beautiful Albariño, this is what dining is all about. Not an everyday place and the price is reflected in that, but sure is a place to come if you want to be wowed or want to wow someone special. ”
